After many years in the ophthalmic industry, Tresa was happy and content. Satisfied with her friends, her lifestyle and the way she was showing up in the world, she never dreamed of walking away and starting something new.
It wasn’t until one day when Tresa’s son was visiting, helping her review her retirement portfolio, that he looked at her in disbelief and said “Mom, what is your plan for retirement?" She couldn’t believe it - she had done all the “right” things. Consistently putting money in her 401K, taking budget vacations and living within her means. Tresa felt confident she was going to retire comfortably - looking forward to enjoying her time with family and traveling the world.
The truth was, after taking a closer look at the numbers, Tresa only had 7 years worth of money to live on after retiring at 65. It was then that she made a decision. One that would hugely impact the rest of her life. Finding comfort in the scripture Joshua 1:9, at age 50 Tresa made the leap to join her son’s business and immerse herself in the real estate investment industry.
But paving the way for women wasn’t easy. The journey came with massive personal growth, not only with new learning, but with the powerful emotions that come along with starting a new challenge at this stage of life. As a woman in a male dominated industry, Tresa felt deeply called to build an environment where other women could not only participate, but thrive with their God-given gifts. In desiring a truly encouraging and uplifting place where doing the work is celebrated with great rewards, Tresa created Women’s Real Estate Investors Network and became a trailblazing leader for all women ready to step into their courageous selves.
Today, Tresa knows it was worth it. She now understands that this is where God was leading her all along. She now meets professional women who are close to retirement exactly where they are, providing them with an investment network and easy to understand real estate education so they can become financially confident and create multi-generational wealth for their families. Tresa is leaving her legacy with the ripple effect Women’s Real Estate Investment Network has made in each of these women's lives.
